Unintended Consequences: LA's Mansion Tax May Harm Non-Profits

The Los Angeles Times writes about the unintended consequences of LA's Measure ULA or "Mansion Tax", which was partly designed by one of the unelected members of Pasadena's Rental Housing Board. Veteran watchers of the Rent Board can guess the rest: Measure ULA was poorly written as a knee-jerk response to LA's inability to resolve its housing crisis, and was intended to soak "the rich". In fact, it drags all sorts of organizations into its damaging clutches.
